Visual Clues Checklist -- JAN 067

revised most recently on 01/23/2006

Instructions: download the Word doc, Checklist or Checklist 2 - condensed version

After screening a film the first time, go through the list and answer as many of the questions as you can. For "Basic Information" you may want to go online to http://www.imdb.com/ as well as to http://movies.go.com/sitemap/browsemoviearchives2000s.html (type name of any movie in search box top right.)

Then screen a second time (at a minimum -- three times is better) to look for:

  • answers to questions you were unable to answer after the first screening

  • verification of first impressions or a change of mind

  • details in your answers

Grading of Checklist: How you do on your checklist effects your class participation grade.

·        + 1 grade for good effort (means clearly thinking about most of the questions and putting those thoughts down on paper – even if the answer is “wrong”)

·        no change for adequate effort (means answering most of the questions, though without much thought

·        - 1 grade for really weak / incomplete work

·        - 2 grades for no checklist at all
